Dear Global Friends,

I am Hania, a 9-year-old former refugee from Afghanistan. I dream of education, growth, and empowerment. Today, I call upon all women leaders, the international community, and the United Nations to stand in solidarity and support thousands of Afghan girls who, like me, lack access to education, health, freedom, and the chance to dream.

Let’s show our support through actions, not just words; through support, not just sympathy; and through proof, not just promises.

Education is not just about dreams; it’s about our rights Imagine if my mother hadn’t fought for her rights and education. Would I be here today, committed to making a difference? No. Without inspiring leaders, I wouldn’t have the courage to move forward, so we need more women to inspire us and motivate us to chase our dreams.

We are the future of this world, equal to boys. Yet, why do we have to put down the pen to write our future?

Instead of leading the world, we are forced to settle for a house.

Instead of living free, we should fight for each other. Instead of celebrating, we should cry for each other.

Instead of trying our chances, we always feel regretful of the past and future. Instead of love, we face violence.

Instead of respect, we face disrespect. Instead of deciding our future, we watch others decide it. Instead of racing, we should hide.

Last but not least, instead of flying, we hold our wings tight for one chance, one day, maybe, to fly high and high.

Let’s stand together to support Afghan girls’ right to education.

Education is not just a fundamental human right; it’s a pathway to empowerment and brighter futures. By investing in girls’ education, we transform lives, entire communities, and the world. Despite challenges, Afghan girls show remarkable resilience. It’s time for us to rally together, break down barriers, and ensure every girl has the opportunity to learn, grow, and soar, doesn’t matter who she is, where she is.
