Brand Journey to Royals – Onita Prasada

Onita Prasada Founder of O’Nitaa London

Kate Middleton has stunned all of us once again with her grandeur entry at the glitzy film premiere for James Bond film ‘No Time To Die’. Kate undoubtedly has a Royal style statement & is an epitome of luxury. Everyone is talking about her and whole world is still buzzing about her Glittery gown from Jenny Packham and her circular ear ring from O’Nitaa London.

Duchess of Cambridge is an ultimate Diva who has a great love for Asian Ethnic Luxe brands. The way she paired the Jenny Packham gown with O’Nitaa London’s circular Rings shows her admiration towards Asian Jewelry.

Her super chic updo style was perfectly complimented by these fusion ear Rings of “Golden-Ratio” and “Recursive Symmetry”, designed to elegance yet modern jewelry. Available at the online stores now www.onitaa.co.uk

It is highly inspiring & motivating for other Asian Brands to see how O’Nitaa London has made it to Royals.

It certainly takes a lot of hard work, patience perseverance and dedication to become one of the favorites to Royals when it comes to Asian Ethnic Wear or accessories.

We met Onita Prasada of O’Nitaa London and got a chance to know about her Journey to Royal Clients. Let’s read along what she shared with us.

I started my store in 2008, in Marylebone. The first ever multi brand south Asian designer fashion store in Europe. I think I set a trend for others .

My aim was to introduced both Indian and Pakistani designers, both well known brands and upcoming brands to the UK market. And I succeeded , my brand was quite an enigma! With loads of press coverage, I have had the opportunity to dressed many a celebrity, brides, grooms and folks attending galas and weddings alike .

In 2017 I moved my brand to our gorgeous Chelsea store . September of 2019 , the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were planning their State visit to Pakistan. I had an email from their PA who was planning their wardrobe saying she would like to visit our store and that kickstarted our association with the Royals!

Most of the traditional attire worn by the Duke and Duchess over their Pakistani visit was from my store. September 2019 was an exciting month at O’nitaa London. Besides dressing the Royals , we were awarded the best small boutique in the UK , were chosen to partake in an interesting BBC ONE reality show, titled – “CALL THAT HARD WORK” that was aired in April 2020 . My 13 year journey as the sole director of O’nitaa London has been checkered with many peaks and troughs. Some harrowing and some as exciting as dressing the Royals and being aired on BBC ONE!

Sadly we were forced to shut our brick and mortar store in 2020 , due to the pandemic. I now look forward to the next leg of my professional life with baited anticipation – let’s see how this unfolds over time !

I’d like to share a small message of encouragement to all the woman entrepreneurs out there who may read this article – Believe in your dreams like I did, and never take ‘No’ for an answer… plod along with deep rooted faith in your prayers and your own strengths, grab opportunities that come your way and turn these into your very own victories …

With gratitude to the mystic law always …
